Adventure #1: Two nights ago, after Lily had gone to bed, Mommy and Gracie got in the shower. We proceeded to get all clean and warm and Grace was even falling asleep with me while still under the warm spray. I handed her off to Daddy so I could get clean and pointed out what I thought was a bottle of lavender scented baby lotion and asked him if he would slather her with it after getting her in her diaper.
A few minutes later, I was out of the shower getting dressed while Jeremy happily spread lotion all over a growingly upset Gracie when Jeremy came in to say, "This is the strangest lotion. It's clear and then when you rub it it turns white."
"Wow, that is weird." So, I started reading the back of the bottle. I didn't know it was a CHANGING lotion. When I got down to the directions they read 'Use one cap full for one infant TUB.'
Dang it!! It was SOAP!
Adventure #2: All day yesterday Grace had a tummy ache. Her tummy kept bubbling and rumbling all day long. Finally, about dinner time I got her to settle down and spend some time in her swing. About half an hour later she started to fuss but we were right in the middle of dinner and I figured she could hold til I was done. So, I turned off the room light and restarted her music and mobile. That settled her again for a few minutes so I could mostly finish my dinner. Then she really got upset. When I went to pick her up she was soaked! Spit up from the top and something from the bottom...
After taking her in to change her diaper I discovered...I have never seen a bigger poop mess in all my life (except the other day when I was changing her diaper on the couch at Joni's and she decided she wasn't done yet...but that's a different story!). I carefully cleaned her up with some wipes and then decided that another shower was in order. Moral of the story...if your baby hasn't pooped all day and suddenly is extra grumpy, change her quickly cause she's probably been saving it all day!
