I'm stealing this idea from a friend and fellow blogger.  Pictures are worth a thousand words!

Fun Firsts!

Today, Lily and I were coloring.  When I finished my picture, I put my name at the top and so Lily wanted to write hers also.  We've written her name before--usually with me holding her hand and saying the letters as we go--but she did it all by herself today!  I only had to tell her the letters as she went L-I-L-Y.  I was so proud!

Sorry about the quality...I took this with my phone.  Please ignore the squiggle next to the first "L".  She wrote over a previous "drawing".

Then, after big sister went to bed for nap, Mommy had a little treat--low fat vanilla ice cream.  I had just fed Gracie and she was hanging out on her boppy pillow.  I sat beside her and was enjoying my ice cream.  She started to get really excited.  Kicking her hands and feet, holding her head up and cooing and had a dead-lock stare on my ice cream!  So, I gave her a bite.  (Now, before you go scolding me for the very first thing to pass my baby's lips beside breast milk, it was a snow flake size bite.)

As soon as the ice cream touched her tongue--she giggled!  I think I may be in trouble.

Four Months and Counting!

The 30th was Gracie's birthday.  Four whole months since her glorious--and much awaited :)--birth.  I can hardly believe it's been 4 months already, but then again I sometimes think 'it's only been 4 months, stop being so hard on yourself!'  Gracie has been able to roll--very effectively,  I might add--from her back to her side for about 3 weeks now.  Three days ago she rolled all the way onto her tummy from her back (mostly by herself.  Really she did it all I just supported, no pushing, her top knee)!!  Then when she got there she realized she had rolled all the way over and that she DOES NOT like tummy time and promptly "asked" to be rolled back over.  Now, everytime Grace is on the floor and even begins to roll Lily will get down with her and chant, "Go, Gracie, go!"

She had her four month appt. yesterday and is very healthy and above the curve but didn't get a "clean bill of health".  Poor baby has an ear infection.  She got her immunizations anyway (and some antibiotics) because the dr. said it would be fine.  But now she has a big fever and is super grumpy!  She's even crying sometimes when she nurses.  She's gained half a pound since the end of March and 4.75 inches since birth.  She's is in the 25th percentile for height and weight and the 70th for head circumference.  She's cooing, smiling and laughing easily and regularly.  She loves for people to talk to her, even strangers, but definitely is mommy's girl.  Most times, lately, she doesn't even want to be held by Daddy!

We're officially exclusively cloth diapering now.  Don't be too impressed.  These are not yo mama's cloth diapers!  Look here for all the new innovations in cloth diapering!  I've spent around $250 and have everything I'll need to have until she's potty trained!  And on top of the cheapness, they're super cute!!
The cutest cloth bum in history!

Losing It?...Yep!

This week was my third weigh in for weight watchers.  I'm down to 182.6 lbs.  And for those of you NOT keeping track, that's another 3 lbs. in one week!  I'm so excited!  That makes a total of  12.4 lbs. (since having Gracie), and also means I'm officially BELOW pre-pregnancy weight!

I've been able to get in a little bit of exercise.  Not everyday but each little bit counts.  My "medicine" ball (baby Grace) gets lifts of varying numbers several times a day--even beyond the I-need-to-be-moved lifts.  And I've been doing push ups--I think I got in about 20 last week.  Just so we're clear, I'm not talking about the girly ones you do with your knees bent but the tough ones (my sweetie calls them "man-ups").  I can do a whole 5 at one time!  I know, you may not be impressed, but as a girl who is NOT athletic at all and is known--as my mom says--as a sissy arm, I'm definitely impressed.

Has there ever been a time when you struggled with your weight or body shape?  What did you do?
